This year we will be reading Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman. Thurman was a nationally recognized theologian, distinguished religious leader, and prolific author. In Jesus and the Disinherited, Thurman contends that Jesus has always been a partner to the oppressed, even linking his struggles to the enduring discrimination and violence Black Americans experience. We have purchased 25 copies from Petals and Pages, a local queer-owned feminist bookstore. You are free to get your own copy or buy one of ours for $16. We hope you will join us!
